Hot off the press: these new additions

Print is dead? We don't think so. You will notice that the paper library collections are constantly being expanded and updated.

For those who want to satisfy their hunger for reading at home, on the train or while travelling, e-books offer solace. You will also regularly find new additions to the digital collection.

Digital databases are always within reach

Move over, Wikipedia. You can collect sources via databases. Many programmes have replaced physical source material with digital databases. This allows you to consult thousands and thousands of online articles and publications anywhere. Please note: some databases can only be consulted on campus.

Did you know that the free Lean Library plug-in makes your source research much easier? It's worth checking out!

Learning platforms for teacher education courses

In addition to the physical, non-lending teaching methods, there are also learning platforms. These can be consulted digitally. Various publishers offer digital learning platforms, which can be viewed via Academic Software.

Don't forget to purchase your software package! You can purchase the software package each year via the student portal.

Frequently asked questions about the library collections

You can consult the Limo library catalogue on your laptop. A tip: log in to get all the information about the material. Use the search bar to find the book you want. You will get an overview of its availability and where to find it. Double-check that your learning centre is on the list. With that information, you can easily find the book on the shelf.

You cannot reserve items from the library collection unless they are currently on loan. You can do this via Limo. When the previous borrower returns the item, you will receive an email inviting you to collect it.

As a student at Odisee, you may borrow up to 30 items from the library.

The standard loan period is two weeks. Different loan periods may apply depending on the type of material and the learning centre. Please feel free to ask the desk clerk about the loan period.

Your library materials are not automatically renewed. So remember to do this yourself. If you are logged in to Limo, you can renew via your account. Please note: you can only renew if the current loan period has not yet expired, the maximum loan period has not yet been reached and the material has not been reserved by another student.

For each working day after the loan period has expired, €0.10 per item will be charged. Payment can only be made by debit card at the counter.

Yes, this can be done free of charge. You can request an interlibrary loan (ILL) via Limo or by submitting a ticket. You will receive an email as soon as the book is available at your learning centre. At the end of the loan period, you return it there. Please note: you will be charged for delivery costs for international shipments.

Please note: if you do not collect the requested items, we will charge a penalty of 10 euros.

Report this to a member of staff at your learning centre as soon as possible to avoid a late return fine. You will still have to pay the cost of a new copy and an administrative fee. Ask for the damage form at your Learning Centre and hand it in at the desk to avoid a late return fine.

Commercial newspapers and magazines are not part of the collections. However, you can read them at most public libraries. Are you already a member of a public library? Then you may have access to GoPress from home.

In addition, Le Soir, DPG Media and Mediahuis offer free student subscriptions for those under the age of 26. You can read all digital editions, including Le Soir, Nieuwsblad, De Morgen, Het Laatste Nieuws and De Standaard, completely free of charge.

Everything starts at Limo! Log in and consult the catalogue.
